Join us for a tour of Hummock Island Oyster Farm in Westport, CT. Learn how oysters are grown as we travel by boat across Sherwood Mill Pond to the historic house on Hummock Island. Relax in Adirondack chairs while Captain Jeff Sr. talks about the history of oystering in Connecticut and how our company came to be. We'll end the tour with all you can eat oysters and shucking lessons on the front porch overlooking the water.



When are the farm tours?

Wednesday through Sunday, June 1 through November 10th, 2019. 3 tours per day at 1pm - 2:30pm, 3pm - 4:30pm, and 5:30pm - 7pm.

How much does it cost?

Tickets are $100/person.

Where do I park?

Parking is limited and hard to come by so we suggest you Uber to the farm. If you are a Westport resident with a beach sticker you can park in the lot at Old Mill Beach. If you are from out of town you can try to find a spot on a side street nearby the street nearby. Arrive early to allow plenty of time to find parking. Do not park at Elvira Mae’s Market or in the lot at Sherwood Mill Pond Preserve! You will be towed.

How do I reserve a spot?

Tours are sold exclusively on our website and are first come, first served. To reserve your spots, first select the quantity (number of people), then the date/time of your tour, and click “Continue.” Tours are NON-REFUNDABLE, but tickets never expire so you can reschedule as needed. Oysters are all-you-can-eat. Tours are also BYOB so feel free to bring your favorite beverage pairing.

What should I wear on a farm tour?

Please be prepared to dress for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes that can be worn outdoors, particularly on docks and boats. You will not be getting out of the boat and onto the mud flats, so street shoes are fine.

What happens if there is bad weather on the day of my farm tour?

Tours will be weather dependent, but we will do our best to follow through with the tours whenever possible. If there is an issue with weather, and we can't take you out on your selected date, we will discuss the alternate options.

Is there on-site overnight accommodation?

No, but we do recommend the Delamar Southport if you are looking for a hotel.
